Rachel graduated from Cambridge in 1994 and remained in academia to complete a PhD focussing on the regeneration of glial cells in the central nervous system.  She continued in research with post-doctoral research fellowship at University College London, before returning to clinical practice in Northern Ireland in 2002.  Since then she has developed her interests in small animal internal medicine, joining the team at Earlswood in 2014.  She completed the BSAVA Certificate in Small Animal Medicine with distinction in 2018.  

She is interested in all aspects of canine and feline internal medicine, as well as oncology and medical neurology.  She is actively involved in promoting CPD for all members of the veterinary team through her current role as Regional Chair of BSAVA Northern Ireland.  In her spare time, Rachel enjoys horse-riding, cookery and photography.
