Having qualified with credit from Edinburgh in 2007 Steven spent a few years in mixed practice in Wales before pursuing specialisation. A general European School of Veterinary Postgraduate Studies certificate in Ophthalmology followed in 2011 with time working in a first opinion and referral hospital in the West Midlands. Steven moved back to NI in 2012, working at Cromlyn House Vet Hospital where he continued surgical specialisation and took on more complex cases.
He joined Earlswood Veterinary in 2016 and passed the BSAVA Certificate in Small Animal Surgery with distinction in 2019. Steven's compassionate nature, surgical ability and enthusiasm make him an indispensable member of the team. He relishes the challenge of complex soft tissue surgery and is training towards performing advanced intraocular surgery. Outside work he will often be found walking Denzel the border terrier with wife Eleanor and three young children (Wilfred, Constance and Felix), tending his bees, or practising mowing with a scythe.
